About the Museum of Illusions Dallas

The Museum of Illusions Dallas fuses fun and education, so visitors can have an entertaining time while also learning. Each optical illusion will not only make you question whether your eyes are working right but will help you to discover more about the way our minds work.

As you walk through over 80 exhibits, your mind will often struggle to interpret what you’re seeing in a way that makes sense or seems possible. You may find yourself wrestling with logic as you try to figure out how a straight stick is able to pass through a curved hole—and that’s the fun of every experience at the Museum of Illusions Dallas.

Brain Twisting Installations

With a variety of rooms and installations designed to bend your mind, this is an excellent adventure for all ages. Families, groups, and couples are welcome to come and experience these illusions for themselves.

Do you see a vase or a person’s face? Check out the Rubin’s Vase exhibit, a classic illusion since it was first developed in 1915. Find out why people have been fascinated with this illusion for over 100 years as you try to find all the hidden faces.

With the Hollow Face Illusion, you’ll challenge the innate human ability to recognize faces—even in a hollow space. On top of that, the faces seem to follow you wherever you go!

Step Inside the Illusion

While many of the exhibits are interactive to different degrees, some invite you to actually take part in the illusion.

For example, the Head on a Platter Illusion will make it seem as if your head is being served up for someone’s dinner.

If you’ve ever wanted to meet your clone, have a chat with several. The Clone Table uses mirrors to create the illusion that you’re sitting at a table surrounded by clones of yourself.

Have you ever wondered what you really look like to other people? The True Mirror will give you an experience no other mirror can. Where every other mirror flips your left and right, this mirror will show you your reflection exactly as other people see you.

Prove that you can defy gravity when you take a photo standing on the wall of the Reverse Room.  Challenge your senses even more in the Tilted Room. Here your mind will struggle to decide if the ground is flat or sloped, leading to truly gravity-defying feats, such as water flowing up hill.
