2022 Ford F-250 MPG
The Ford F-250 is designed to carry everything you need. From towing a trailer to your jobsite to bringing a boat on your next family vacation, it offers enough power and durability to get the job done. It’s also built to cover a lot of ground in between stops for gas.
Just how efficient is it, though? Rockwall Ford finds out. To show drivers and businesses in Rockwall, Mesquite, and Garland, TX, what it’s capable of, we took a closer look at the Ford F-250 MPG.
Ford F-250 Fuel Economy
The Ford F-250 offers three powerful engines and a trio of comfortable cab sizes. Your fuel economy depends on which option works best for you. For example, if you’re interested in the diesel engine, your F-250 will deliver an efficient drive and run on a 29-gallon gas tank.
A pair of traditional gas-powered engines is available with a couple of different fuel tanks. A 34-gallon tank comes standard with the Regular Cab, Crew Cab, and the SuperCab. The Crew Cab is an ideal choice for shipping. Its 8-foot-long truck bed can carry more.
No matter which engine, cab, or truck bed you’re interested in, your F-250 is sure to have a sleek, aerodynamic design. Every trim features a large grille, a low drag coefficient, and a high ground clearance. With a minimum of 8.5 inches of clearance above the ground, the F-250 offers excellent airflow and the capability to get up and over all kinds of rugged terrain.
Super Duty Performance
These efficient engines are also designed to haul your heaviest cargo. The Ford F-250 can tow more than 20,000 pounds when properly equipped and handle a payload of 4,260 pounds. You can even configure it for 5th-wheel/gooseneck towing. With that extra leverage, the F-250 can tow up to 22,800 pounds when properly equipped.
The F-250 features a standard 6.2L V8 engine that gets up to 385 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque for carrying all that cargo. This works with a TorqShift® G 6-speed SelectShift® automatic transmission.
Both of the other available engine options offer more capability with a TorqShift® 10-speed SelectShift® automatic transmission. The next engine is a 7.3L V8 engine that delivers 430 horsepower and 475 lb-ft of torque.
The most powerful and efficient option is an exciting 6.7L Power Stroke® V8 Turbo Diesel engine. It’s capable of a whopping 475 horsepower and 1,050 lb-ft of torque.
Efficient Features
Whether you’re out for a long drive or taking a quick trip, the Ford F-250 makes it easy to save gas with some efficient features. For example, the 10-speed automatic transmission comes with selectable driving modes.
While modes like Tow/Haul can help you haul a trailer, Eco mode boosts your fuel economy. If you’re taking a road trip or shipping something far, you can also flip on Adaptive Cruise Control to help your pickup conserve gas on the highway.
