Ford F-150 Engines & Capability

With the Ford F-150, you’ll have a choice of six different engines, so you can be assured your needs are met, whatever they may be.

Whether you’re looking for an engine with the utmost power or one that can offer premium efficiency, you’ll find it in the F-150. The standard engine is a 3.3L Ti-VCT V6 engine that delivers 290 horsepower and 265 lb-ft of torque.

Each engine gives the F-150 the ability to tow and haul as long as the vehicle is fortified with the proper equipment. The maximum towing capacity for the F-150 is a whopping 14,000 pounds when properly equipped. You’ll also be able to haul up 3,325 pounds of payload capacity when properly equipped.

Ford F-150 Transmission

The F-150’s transmission is just as impressive as its array of engine options. The advanced 10-speed transmission is standard, which will change the way you drive completely. It enhances acceleration and features wide-span gear spacing for easy shifting. There are even three overdrive gears, so you can get the job done.

If you opt for the hybrid engine, this transmission will work in tandem with an integrated 33kW electric motor.

This transmission can also take the road ahead and the load behind selectable drive modes. Choose from:

The available Deep Snow/Sand, Mud/Rut, and Rock Crawl modes are for a personalized drive that can handle any terrain mother nature throws its way.

Ford F-150 Trim Level Specs

The Ford F-150 offers eight trim level options for you to choose from, including the XL, the XLT, the LARIAT, the King Ranch, the Platinum, the Limited, the Tremor, and the Raptor trims. Each trim provides you with its own unique lineup of features, which you’ll see below.

The base F-150 trim is the XL trim. It has a 3.3L V6 engine under the hood, standard Automatic on/off Headlamps, and Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking.

The next trim is the F-150 XLT trim. Like the XL trim, it has an available SYNC® 4 infotainment system with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ and enhanced voice recognition.

The third trim is the F-150 LARIAT trim. The interior of this trim comes standard with leather seats with driver memory function and SiriusXM® with 360L.

Next up is the F-150 King Ranch trim. The infotainment system gets an upgrade with standard voice-activated navigation, heated rear seats, and a B&O Sound System by Bang & Olufsen.

One of the higher-level trims is the F-150 Platinum trim. The Platinum trim offers standard multi-contour leather bucket seats with an Active Motion® massage function.

One of the top trim levels is the F-150 Limited trim. This trim comes standard with the 3.5L EcoBoost® V6 engine. This trim also features a standard power tailgate, which can be lowered with the button on your key fob.

The first off-roading trim is the F-150 Tremor if you’re into off-roading. The F-150 Tremor has standard Tremor-specific monotube shocks and 18-inch aluminum wheels with a dark matte finish.

The other off-roading trim is the F-150 Raptor trim. It comes standard with the 4×4 system, the Terrain Management System™, and the 3.5L EcoBoost® High-Output V6 engine.

As you can see, each of these trim levels offers its unique capabilities. Depending on your needs for your pickup truck, one of these trims may stick out more for you than the rest.

Spacious Interior Specifications

With incredible power and handling outside of the truck, you’ll also have the spacious interior that the F-150 has to offer the driver and the passengers. This model gives you the choice of three cab options, starting with a 3-seater Regular Cab, which is the standard cab option.

You can opt for a SuperCab or a SuperCrew® cab for more interior space. Both options offer five or six seats organized into two rows and four doors for you and your passengers to get in and out of the cabin.

No matter which of these cabs you decide to go with, you and your passengers will have more than enough room to spread out and get comfortable with these dimensions:

Cargo Box & Exterior Dimensions

On top of having three cab options to choose from, the Ford F-150 also has multiple cargo boxes for you to consider. First up is the 5.5-foot Styleside cargo box option, which measures 67.1 inches in length, 50.6 inches in width, and 21.4 inches in height. With these measurements, you’ll get a total of 52.8 cubic feet of cargo volume in the bed.

The next biggest cargo box option is a 6.5-foot Styleside box. This box measures 78.9 inches in length with the same width and height measurements as the standard 5.5-foot Styleside cargo box. This extended length provides you with 62.3 cubic feet of cargo volume in the bed of the truck.

For the most amount of room in the bed of your F-150, you’ll want to opt for the available 8-foot Styleside cargo box. This cargo box sports the same width and height measurements as the preceding two box options. However, it does measure 97.6 inches in length, resulting in a whopping 77.4 cubic feet of cargo volume in the bed.
