Standard Safety Features

To start, the 2022 Ford F-150 comes standard with several basic safety systems, including front, driver, and passenger seat-mounted airbags. You’ll also get an Active Restraint System (ARS) of safety belts that tenses up automatically when the brakes are applied suddenly.

Standardly, you’ll also get a few advanced safety features, including:

• 4-wheel anti-lock brakes
• AdvanceTrac™ with Roll Stability Control™ (RSC®)
• Curve Control
• Rear View Camera with Dynamic Hitch Assist

These advanced safety features are designed to work with you to help you maintain control of the vehicle even when you’re driving at highway speeds, on slippery roads, or with a full trailer hitched to the rear of the vehicle. With these features, you can stay steady on the road, stop when you need to, and potentially avoid collisions when backing up and parking.

Ford Co-Pilot360™ Systems

On top of all the standard safety features the 2022 Ford F-150 has to offer, this model is also equipped with Ford Co-Pilot360™ technology. These advanced driver-assistive systems are designed to act like a second set of eyes on the road to potentially help you prevent or mitigate collisions of all kinds.

Some systems act automatically to enhance visibility, starting with Automatic High-Beam Headlamps. This system uses exterior sensors to monitor your driving conditions. When the sun goes down, these sensors will automatically engage the high beams to turn on and off when oncoming traffic approaches. After the vehicle as passed, the high beams will turn on again. You can even add the optional dynamic bending headlamps and see clearly around any bend in the road.

The available 360-Degree Camera Package gives you a bird’s-eye view of your vehicle’s surroundings on your infotainment display. You can use traditional view or split view to do things like parallel park, back out of a packed driveway, and even hitch up the trailer with ease.

Other standard and available systems that will monitor your surroundings and warn you of potential collisions include:

• Available BLIS® (Blind Spot Information System) with Cross-Traffic Alert and Trailer Tow Coverage: Acts as an extra set of eyes on your blind spots and warns you when another vehicle is near your vehicle or your trailer to potentially help you prevent or mitigate collisions.
• Available Lane-Keeping System: Watches the lines of your lane and warns you if you begin to cross over your lines without signaling, so you can stay centered and avoid any drifting or swaying.
• Standard Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking: Can keep an eye on your surroundings and alerts you of any potential collision before automatically applying the brakes.

A few other active driver-assistive systems you can choose to include are Intersection Assist and Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control. The former will help you safely make a left turn through a busy intersection by alerting you any time there’s oncoming traffic approaching.

Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control, on the other hand, helps you maintain a safe following distance from the vehicle in front of you while still enjoying cruise control. You set the speed you want to travel at and this system will maintain that speed for you until you get too close to another vehicle.

At this point in time, the Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control system can automatically engage the brakes and even bring your vehicle to a complete stop on its own in order to prevent a collision. Then, once the coast is clear, this system will automatically engage the engine to bring you back up to a safe speed.

Even More Assistance to Give You More Confidence Behind the Wheel

There are a few other advanced technologies that we also want to highlight that are extremely helpful when backing up your trailer or parking your F-150. Available Pro Trailer Backup Assist™ will help you safely reverse your trailer and truck in the direction you want them to go. This backup assistant gives you a handy knob inside the cabin that allows you to steer your trailer with the vehicle for easy reversing.

Parking this Ford truck is as easy as parking a sedan, thanks to the help of optional Active Park Assist 2.0. Fit into parallel spots or back into perpendicular parking spaces by simply shifting into neutral and holding down the Active Park Assist button. At this point, the truck will do the rest and safely navigate itself into the open space.
