Power Under the Hood
Three engine options make the Ford F-350 the powerful truck it is.
The standard engine is a 6.2L flex-fuel V8 gas engine, which delivers 385 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque out of the gate.
The second engine, which offers a little more power and torque, is the optional 7.3L V8 gas engine. This engine generates 430 horsepower and 475 lb-ft of torque.
The most powerful engine of the three is the available 6.7L Power Stroke® V8 Turbo Diesel with a whopping 1,050 lb-ft of torque and 475 horsepower. This engine comes with a driver-activated engine-exhaust brake, which restricts the turbocharger’s exhaust flow to create back pressure, slowing the vehicle for better control when driving downhill.
All three engines work with a standard TorqShift® 10-speed automatic transmission that’s designed to improve shift performance. Five drive modes also come standard with this transmission, including Slippery, Tow/Haul, Eco, and Deep Sand/Snow.
Towing and Payload Capacity
Ford trucks have impressive towing and payload capacities. The Ford F-350 lives up to the Built Ford Tough™ motto.
When properly equipped, the maximum towing capacity of the F-350 is 35,750 pounds. Construction equipment, multi-car trailers, and large horse trailers are all things the F-350 can tow.
If you’re looking to load your truck bed with over 7,000 pounds, the F-350 is more than up to the task. The maximum payload capacity of the F-350 is an incredible 7,850 pounds when properly configured. That’s almost four tons!
Getting the Job Done
The F-350 is made to help you get work done. Therefore, the truck comes with many different productivity features so your truck can lend a hand.
If you end up working after dark or when the sun is going down, you’re probably going to need some light. Available exterior LED lighting can help you see. Placed all over the truck, including in the truck bed, you can see the area around your truck for work or to load up the truck bed.
The available tailgate step helps you get in and out of your truck bed while you’re loading things. It stows in the tailgate and you can deploy it when you need it.
