A new year is upon us, and with the turn of the calendar comes the next iteration of Ford’s iconic pickup, the F-150! This tough truck hasn’t hit showroom floors yet, but that doesn’t mean you can’t start learning all about the 2022 F-150.1

What’s New About the 2022 F-150?
Many of the 2022 F-150’s additions revolve around its design elements. For example, drivers will be able to choose a modern Black Appearance package on XL, XLT, Lariat, and Platinum trim levels. On the exterior, a shimmering new hue—Atlas Blue—joins the color palette.
Speaking of trim levels, Ford will offer quite the list of choices for the 2022 F-150, including the XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, Limited, Tremor, and Raptor. While specific details pertaining to each trim are not yet available, we do know that some trims will have extra options. Like the XL, XLT, and Lariat, which will now offer the Bed Utility package.
Power & Performance of the 2022 F-150
The engine selection for the 2022 F-150 will remain unchanged from the previous year and looking back at its predecessor’s out-of-the-park specs, we can totally see why. With this much power, we were beginning to wonder what was even left to improve.
Now for the details. The 2022 Ford F-150 will offer a 7-engine lineup, meaning there’s something under the hood for everyone and every lifestyle. Let’s start with the standard—a 3.3L Ti-VCT V6 that generates 290 horsepower and 265 lb-ft of torque.
Want to turn things up a notch? If so, you’ll love the optional high-output 3.5L EcoBoost® engine that produces 450 horsepower and 510 lb-ft of torque. This engine will also feature a 10-speed automatic transmission and will only be available on the Raptor trim level.
Smart Towing Features
A slew of smart towing features will make a comeback in 2022, providing folks with the safety and security to haul their toys and equipment with confidence.
One such feature is the available Smart Trailer Tow Connector. This device can inform you when something regarding your trailer requires attention. If your turn indicator lamps need replacing, for example, you’ll get an alert on the tow activity screen.
While on the highways and byways, you can use the optional BLIS® (Blind Spot Information System) with Trailer Coverage to stay in the know. This system monitors your truck and trailer’s blind spots and will alert you if a vehicle is detected within them.
