Flexibility of Engine Choices

The Escape has four engines—two gas and two hybrids—to choose from. You can choose which one is right for you both in terms of power and in terms of fuel economy.

The standard engine is the 1.5L EcoBoost® that delivers 181 horsepower with the option of front-wheel drive or available all-wheel drive.

The other gas engine bumps up your power by over 50 horses. The available 2.0L EcoBoost® engine delivers an impressive 250 horsepower when working with an 8-speed automatic transmission.

The hybrid engine options are both roughly the same engine. The big difference is one hybrid engine is a plug-in, and one is not. They have almost the same power output. The available 2.5L hybrid and 2.5L plug-in hybrid generate 200 total horsepower.

Inside the Escape

The interior of the Escape combines comfort and practicality. It seats five on comfortable cloth seats or available leather-trimmed seats. Driver-seat memory is available if you’re not the only driver of the Escape in your family.

If you’re a big fan of natural light and some wind in your hair, the available Panoramic Vista Roof® gives you that. The large forward panel opens or tilts up so you can enjoy the sun and wind.

The available SYNC® 3 infotainment system and touchscreen help you control the Escape’s entertainment and navigation systems. Streaming music, getting directions, and taking calls hands-free is possible with this equipment and voice-controlled technology.

Safety and Driver-Assist Features

Safety is a huge consideration when you choose your SUV. That’s why the Ford Escape has standard driver-assist and safety features—all part of the Ford Co-Pilot360™ Technology suite. Some of the standard features in this suite include:

• Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking—This system keeps an eye on the road for potential accidents with a vehicle or pedestrians ahead of you. If one is detected, the system warns you and applies the brakes if needed.
• Lane-Keeping System—This system warns you if you unintentionally drift out of your lane. If it happens a few times, the system suggests it’s time to take a break.
• BLIS® (Blind Spot Information System) with Cross-Traffic Alert—This feature looks out for blind spots and warns you if a vehicle is in them. When you’re backing out of a driveway or parking space, this system will alert you if someone is coming from the left or right.
